Chief Executive Officer

Marc rejoined Alstom in January 2013 as General Manager for PRASA's overall activities and has been appointed CEO of Gibela. Marc began his career with Alstom and in the ensuing 20 years he has gained extensive experience in product design, marketing, project tenders and management. As senior vice president for Rolling Stock at Alstom, he was responsible for a €3,5 billion division of 18,000 employees based in Europe, the Americas/Asia and Oceania. In this role, he presided over successful launches and build-up of railway projects around the world. He was CEO at the Compin Group in France for six years.


Reg Engelbrecht (CA, SA)

Reg joins Gibela from the Alstom Group where he spent six and a half years; first as Country Finance Director for Alstom in South Africa and then as Managing Director for Alstom S&E Africa. Prior to that, Reg obtained financial experience at London-based Lloyds TSB Bank, Axa and Waco International. His involvement in start-up businesses has given him a deep understanding of the challenges of initiating businesses as well as considerable operating and negotiating skills. As Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer of Gibela, Reg aims to establish Gibela as a sustainable, successful and leading business in the industrial sector.


Mardochée Elgrishi

Electromechanical Engineer, Paris, France

Deputy General Manager and MSA Project Director

Mardochée has more than 35 years of experience at Alstom Transport. He has been in charge of various rolling stock projects ranging from suburban to very high speed trains in France, England, Belgium, Hungary and North America. He has also headed the departments of various support functions. In his dual role role, Mardochée will support the Gibela CEO and will assume responsibility for the development and supply of the new trains, initially in Brazil and later in South Africa.


Buyiswa Mncono-Liwani (Dr)

Economic Development Director

Buyiswa has more than 16 years of experience in economic development, enterprise development and transformation in a career with multinationals such as Sasol Mining, Sasol Oil and Shell SA. After she successfully established the Enterprise Development Fund at Shell SA, which assisted black small, medium and micro enterprises with financial and non-financial support, she joined Gibela as Economic Development Director at the end of 2013. In this portfolio, Buyiswa will spearhead company-wide efforts to achieve and fulfil the company's contractual commitments on local content, enterprise development, skills development, socio-economic development, transformation and stakeholder relations.


Pierre-Henri Paulet

Site Managing Director

Pierre-Henri has occupied senior positions in supply chain, the operation of rolling stock components as well as manufacturing during his 30 year career in countries including the United States of America, France, Mexico, Brazil and Hungary. His expertise in industrial strategy, supply chain management, cross-functional team leadership, operations management and manufacturing will be central to his role at Gibela where he will establish and oversee the industrial unit that will manufacture the new fleet of trains. This manufacturing plant will be a one-stop shop where rail sector skills and industry know-how will be transferred into the local market sector.


Duke Mgaga

MBA, Business School Netherlands

Human Resources & Corporate Affairs Director

Duke Mgaga has transferred to Gibela from Alstom where he spent three years as Country HR Director. He brings to the company 20 years of holistic HR experience honed in diverse companies such as Shell, South Africa and United Kingdom, the Development Bank of Southern Africa. In addition to his HR duties at Gibela, he will also take charge of the Corporate Affairs portfolio specifically managing risk exposure and collaborating with a varied stakeholder group to ensure wider strategic alignment as the company executes the 10 year rolling stock project.

In his capacity as HR Director, Duke will consolidate best practice HR to develop and spearhead a strategic talent acquisition approach to capacitate the company as it prepares for the unprecedented local manufacture and delivery of modern trains at a scale the likes of which have never been seen in the industry before.


Laurent Morillon

IT Director

Laurent was appointed as Gibela’s IT Director in November 2014 to establish the information system and IT organisation of the new company and historic project. He began his career as Supply Chain Manager for a global French computer company following which he established a consulting company that specialised in industrial engineering and supply chain organisation. He has led several major and global organisational transformation programs in various large companies including the French Department of Defence. Since the mid-1990s he has mainly focused on global ICT transformation programs. He joins Gibela from Alstom where he served as SAP Global Program Director since April 2011.


Stéphane Guy

Double BA Honours in European Business Administration, CESEM, in France and Middlesex Business School in London

Maintenance Project Director

Stéphane has 25 years of experience at Alstom including power generation, industrial equipment and railway services. As Alstom Transport's Director for Middle East and North African operations, Stéphane has spent the last four years leading and managing service activities for the region. In this capacity he was instrumental in setting up a profitable railway service business with greenfield operations in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel and Turkey. As Gibela's Project Director for the Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreement contract, Stéphane is responsible for setting up a national service operation to support PRASA as the new fleet is introduced.


Pamella Radebe

BJourn Hons (Media Studies), Rhodes University

Communications Director

Pam cut her teeth in corporate communications at the Independent Electoral Commission where she was part of a team responsible for setting and implementing the communication strategy for global media contingents for South Africa's first democratic elections in 1994. In a 20-year career, she has gained invaluable experience in all facets of corporate communications and investor relations in the mining, telecommunications and power sectors. She was instrumental in developing and raising the profile of the iconic Take a Girl Child to Work Day, a project she led for three years. Pam joined Gibela in 2013 following a five-year tenure at Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Africa where she headed Enterprise Development and Corporate Affairs functions.


Pascal Roze

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering), Reims University, France

Sourcing Director

Pascal has over 25 years of experience in Project Management, Costing and Sourcing in the Automotive and Railway Industries. He began his career in 1986 at Chausson, later taken over by ABB, where he held various positions including Project Manager for carbody assembly lines and Sourcing Manager charged with sourcing engineered equipment from South Africa. Pascal joined Alstom in 1999 leading the sourcing activities of the first generation X’trapolis trains. More recently, he was responsible for managing Alstom’s costing activities for all Very High Speed, High Speed and Locomotive Platforms. In his new position, he will manage the sourcing activities for the PRASA fleet-renewal project including the development of a dedicated Gibela sourcing organisation and a robust local supplier base focusing on economic development and localisation.
